Summer in the Scriptures

Summer in the Scriptures

Summer is officially here!  Say hello to relaxing days at the pool, snow cones on a hot afternoon, and my favorite: watermelon!  Summer is synonymous with a slower pace of life. It is a season we relax, rest, and refuel. As summertime begins, the Lord has reminded us how vital His Word is for every season of life.  We are so encouraged by the hunger the women of our church have to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ, and wanted to challenge each of you to join us to spend this summer in the scriptures!

This month we will begin our journey on 3 powerful truths regarding our identity found in God’s Word.

I am accepted…
I am secure…
I am significant…

Pastor Paul just taught us on Sunday about this very topic!  It’s huge!  Remember what Pastor says, “The most important thing about me is what God says about me!”  Let’s find out together who God says we are.  Grab your journal & some java, and let’s dig deeper into God’s Word.  Make this time YOUR time with the Lord.  There’s no one way to spend time with the Lord, however, we do encourage you to take the scripture passage each day and do three things: READ IT, WRITE IT, SAY IT!  It won’t take you long to complete and the impact will be lifelong!

The first scripture passages will focus our identity on the truth: “I am accepted”.  Let’s look at the first scripture passage together:

Read it:  John 1:12

Write it:  Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.

Say it: I am God’s child!

What a powerful truth!  We trust the Lord will bless us as we spend this summer in the scriptures.  May He enrich your time with Him, and strengthen you as you spend the month of June discovering these truths.  Check in with us weekly on the blog and social media for encouragement, updates, and more tools to help you on your journey with Christ.  Blessings!
